My Life |pt. 3|

My Life Revolves Around His Words .

Trey Songz is my favorite artist, no doubt about it. Sometimes I disagree with what he says, but a majority of his songs apply to my life. They change the ways I look at certain situations, and make me feel better about things in life, in general.

My two favorite songs right now are "
Flatline," and "For the Sake of Love." The only thing that I don't like about the songs are, they make me think a lot about things that I should just put behind me.

In Flatline, he says "I wont survive Cause girl my heart beats for you." I can relate to that, even though the situations probably weren't the same. I've felt the same way before, but it's not true. Your mind is telling you that you cannot survive without that person, but you really can. You just have to accept the fact that they might not love you in the same way, and know that they still care.
"You make me feel invincible And baby, you know
My love ain’t gon go nowhere, and I know
The only thing that’s pumping through my veins, is you You know I’m only living for your love
"

In For the Sake of Love, he says, "I need to know that you care about us." In many situations, people think that you don't care about them, based on the way you may treat them. No matter how many times you tell them, they won't realize until you do the unexpected. It's best to know when someone cares about you, so you know that you aren't wasting time on them...
"I pray for us both every night
The sake of our love, it keeps me alive
Same shoulder, here for ya, whenever you should cry
Same body, here wit'chu, till, the moment I die
"

It's Her Business...Not Yours!

Stop Living for Her

I remember when I liked Rihanna. I used to think that she was pretty, and soft-spoken. Looks like I was wrong about her. Her music style changed, and so did her attitude. She's not the same Rihanna that I enjoyed listening to. I remember when I used to listen to her first album, Music of the Sun, everyday. My favorite songs were "Here I Go Again," "There's A Thug In My Life," "Pon De Replay," "That La, La, La," "Rush," "Let Me," and "Music of the Sun."
I didn't like too many songs on her second album, A Girl Like Me, but I still have a few favorites. The only ones that I put on my iPod were, "SOS," "Unfaithful," "We Ride," and "Break it Off."
The third album, Good Girl Gone Bad, is where the change took place. Rihanna cut her hair, and dyed it black. (to the right). With this 'new look' came a new attitude. Her music wasn't the same. Around this time, she began dating R&B singer, Chris Brown. They were a 'cute' couple, but in the beginning, they claimed they were "just close friends." Everybody knew that something was going on between the two celebrities, and one day, they finally spoke about it. They were seen taking vacations with each other. In 2008, they were in the newspaper, when they were caught at the beach together. [click here to see picture.]
The pictures said it all, at least that's what people thought. Growing up watching his father abuse his mother, Chris Brown picked up on some of the problems his father had. One day in 2009, one thing led to the next. I do not know the facts, but I do know that arguments led to something that could've been avoided. Brown abused Rihanna, and left visible marks on her body. There were also bruises left all over her face.

After this incident, Rihanna has changed, and it isn't a good change. She started losing her clothes more and more, even at the Kids Choice Awards...Who does that!?!?! The awards were given by children, and it was a horrible decision for her to dress like this. It would've been different if it was the BET Awards, or something like that, but no, she did it for the kiddies. What made her look worse was she chose to sing "Hard" and "Rude Boy." Let's be serious now...The album is called Rated R.

It is now June, 2010, and people are still holding this grudge over Chris Brown. He admitted that he made a mistake, and he has apologized for it numerous times. If anybody should still be stuck on this, it should be RIHANNA, not her fans. People turn Brown away left and right. It isn't right. Radio Stations stop playing his music, he can't get into some clubs, we had to wait a year to see a movie that had him in it, and now, he has to cancel concerts.
I think that everybody needs to stop living for Rihanna. If you were a true Chris Brown fan all this time, then you still should be. He is the same artist he has always been. I understand he beat on a woman, which is wrong, but if she moved on with it, then you should too.
Beginning to see a pattern ! Every time CB has something going on for him, she has another interview. [Geta Life] CHRIS BROWN FAN4LIFE ! ♥

My Happy Place
It just blocks out everybody's nonsense, and calms my nerves.

DJ Khaled feat. T-Pain, Ludacris, Rick Ross & Snoop Dogg : "All I Do Is Win" I love seeing my auntie Evril running around shouting "All I do is win, win, win no matter what!!!" It makes me like the song more than I already did.
"And everytime I step up in the building
Everybody hands go up
And they stay there
And they say yeah
And they stay there
Up down, up down
'Cause all I do is win win win"

Yes, it's them again... Trey Songz Drake : "Pop Rose" is the remix to "Pop Champagne" by Ron Browz. The song is catchy, and has a nice beat to it. The lyrics are kind of funny to me. Who really goes and says "Been around the world, all girls like fly dudes. You a herb, get on her nerves like flies do?" It's funny, but how do you tell somebody that? [messed up] The song makes me laugh though, and I play it about five times in a row.
"You cuddle undercovers, tellin' her you love her
When it come to verses, swear that I'm perfect
Murder in the first it's chllin in the hearses
Worthless, singing off key on purpose
We gon' pop, f*ck urban (Ooooh!)"

-Trey Songz

Usher & Will.I.Am : "OMG" is all I hear when I my little cousins, Jasmine and Kimoni, get together. It's cute to me, because they dance, sing, and act silly when the song is playing. They never fail when it comes to making me laugh.
"This was something special; this was just like Dynamite
Honey got a booty like pow, pow, pow
Honey got some boobies like wow, oh wow
Girl you know I'm loving your, loving your style
Check, check, check, check, check, checking you Out like,
Ooh (oooh) she got it allll"

-Will.I.Am

Chris Brown, Tyga, & Kevin McCall : "Deuces" Newest Chris Brown song off of his Fan of a Fan mixtape. In most relationships, they get carried away, and don't realize when their partner is not doing right. When they finally realize, they start to push them away. The other one in the relationship starts acting right, when it's too late. In this song, they're "Chucking up their deuces" and letting go of everything. As they say "You never know what you got, until it's |G O N E|."
*deuces*
"Im on some new ****
Im chuckin my deuces up to her
Im moving on to something better, better, better
No more tryin to make it work
You made me wanna say bye bye, say bye bye, say bye bye to her"
-Chris Brown
"Thought it was true love, but you know women lie
Its like I sent my love with a text two times
Call cause I care but I aint get no reply
Tryna see eye to eye but its like we both blind
**** it lets hit the club, i rarely sip but pour me some
Cause when its all said and done,
I aint gon be the one that she can always run to
I hate liars, **** love Im tired of tryin
My heart big but it beat quiet
I don't never feel like we vibin
Cause every time we alone its a awkward silence"
-Tyga
"Look, my shorty always on some bullsh*t like Chicago
So I flip that middle finger and the index finger follow
Deuces, we aint got no future in tomorrow"
-Kevin McCall

My Life |pt. 1|

Music Gets Me Through It..

I don't know what I would do without music. I use songs to express my thoughts, when I can't tell people what's on my mind. There are many songs that I relate to my life, and it makes me feel like they were created to make me feel different about what goes on. Most of the songs on my iPod apply to me, the way I am, and the way I think. I turn on my iPod when I don't want to be bothered with the world, and it helps me calm down. I remove myself from the world, stay to myself, and turn my music on full blast, so that I can no longer hear what people have to say, to me, and about me.
There are some songs that I turn on for certain people.

Chris Brown : "I Needed You" is a song that I played for my "father," as a way of letting him know how I feel, and why I couldn't care less about him. People always think that they know everything about a person, but they don't know as much as they think, unless they've experienced the same things that they go through.
"I needed you
When I needed a father figure.
I needed you
To stop me from makin' the wrong decisions.
At seventeen, when the cold of the world had my back up against the wall.
When temptation was calling me, didn't know which way to go."

-Christopher Brown [Chris Brown]

Danity Kane : "Is Anybody Listening" is the song that I listen to when I'm depressed and feel like I'm alone in life. I've been through a lot in life and sometimes, it gets to the point where I feel like I have to go through it alone, and nobody cares.
"I just wanna feel I belong,

I just need the strength to be strong,

Show me a way,

Won't you show me a way."
-D. Woods

Kirk Franklin : "Imagine Me," and "Could've Been Me" gets me through everything. They add positivity to my life and make me look at things differently. I used to complain about life 24/7 and never get over anything that happened to me. Now, I see that I will get through it all in the end, and I shouldn't complain because there is someone out there going through things, worse than what I go through.
"Letting go of all of the ones who hurt me
Cause they never did deserve me
Can you imagine me?
Saying no to thoughts that try to control me
Remembering all you told me
Lord, can you imagine me?
Over what my mama said
And healed from what my daddy did
And I wanna live and not read that page again"

(Imagine Me)

"It could've been me
With no clothes no shoes and no food to eat
Yeah (Yeah) Yeah (Yeah)
It could've been me
Without you love Lord tell me where would I be
Yeah (Yeah) Yeah (Yeah)
It could've been"
(Could've Been Me)

Trey Songz & Drake : "Successful" is one of my favorites (not because it's Trey Songz). People always seem to think that money is just going to fall out of the sky, and that they don't have to produce anything to get it. In the song, Drake says "I want it all, that's why I strive for it." That shows that you have to work for everything you get. You can't always depend on your parents for money.
"Trynna find a way but you never got a map
Dream chaser, risk taker
No favor, though haters
They might want me to drown
Holdin' me down
But the throne and the crown
Is all I ever wanted, all I ever needed
If I'm the only one and don't nobody else believe it
Then keep it a secret and watch me achieve it
'Cause I know what I want now
So if you want the money
If you gotta make
If you the only one and don't nobody else believe it
Then tell em to beat it
And watch you achieve it
Sing it if you want"

-Tremaine Neverson [Trey Songz]

Jay-Z & Pharrell : "So Ambitious" is a song I use to dedicate to all of the people who said I would never get anywhere in life. I laugh at all of the teachers and students who told me I was going to be a high school drop out and I wasn't going to make it in life. All I have to say to them is Look At Me Now. I'm on the National Honor Society. This is my second year of high school, and I've had top colleges looking at me since my freshman year. I laugh at those who told me I would never make it, because I look back and I see that I'm ten steps away from where they are in life.

"The motivation, for me, is them telling me what I could not be"

New Look..

Jennifer Hudson

As you can see in the pictures, Jennifer Hudson has come a long way since September, 2009. She was known for her singing and the role that she played in the 2006 movie, Dreamgirls. I always thought that she was a role model for thick females, along with Mo'Nique, who has been supporting women for many years.
Hudson has been through many hard times in 2008. Her mother and older brother were found murdered in a house that her mother shared with Hudson's grandmother, and then she discovered that her nephew was also murdered. This was a very difficult time for Hudson, and she cancelled all photo and video shoots, interviews, and public appearances, according to "Reality Rocks."
In February of 2009, Jennifer Hudson made a comeback at the Super Bowl XLIII. She seemed very nervous before she started singing. She took a heavy breath before, and after her performance. It was obvious that she was depressed because the most important people in her life, were not there to witness her biggest moment in life. They were there in spirit, but it was clear that it hurt because she could not give them a big hug and kiss at the end.
Although she has been going through so much lately, she still manages to keep her head up, and enjoy life with her husband, and her son.
She appears on Weight Watchers, as their new spokesperson. She has always said that she loved the way she looked, but she decided that she needed to make some changes, for her son.

Jennifer Hudson has come a long way, and it's nice to see women inspiring each other, instead of fighting and being envious all the time.

Let's Switch it Up a Bit...

"Female Friendly Artists"

I was recently put on to these two rap artists, Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y, by a friend of mine. Normally, I don't listen to rap, but I wanted to see what exactly these "female friendly" rappers were all about.

                                 Wiz Khalifa

Wiz Khalifa has been out since 2006, but it's 2010, and this is the first time I've heard of him. I wasn't too sure what to write about on my blog for him, so I did some research, and started listening to his music. I found out that our lives are similar. We were raised by parents in the military, we've moved around a lot in life, and neither of us have both parents around. The name "Wiz Khalifa" was created with a true meaning. "Khalifa" is the Arabic word for the successor, and "Wiz" came from the word wisdom (Wiz Khalifa).
What I noticed about this artist is that his style is similar to another artist. He sounds a little bit like Drake. They do not rap about the same things, but Drake is the person who came to mind when I heard "This Plane." One minute he's rapping, and the next minute, he's singing. Wiz Khalifa is not that much different from other rap artists, but I give him a [thumbs up] because I can actually listen to his music, without wanting to change the song.
((you can find songs from Wiz Khalifa in my playlist on the blog.))

Curren$y

This artist was discovered by Master P when he was a teenager, but in 2005, he left Master P's No Limit Records. He was ready to give up on rapping, but then he met Lil Wayne and was signed to Young Money Entertainment. In 2007, he left Young Money Entertainment, due to lack of promotion and other reasons. To continue with his music, he made mixtapes on a month to month basis, and then came out with an album. The album is called "This Ain't No Mixtape" and it came out in 2009.
I like some of his songs, but what I don't like about him is the fact that he sounds like most rappers. He doesn't seem to have a sound of his own. In the songs that I listened to, he overly uses the "N word," and he talks about weed and money, too much. I think that he should try rapping about his own personal life because he has been through a lot trying to stay in the music business, and he should show how hard he had to work. Life does not revolve around how much money you make, or how much weed you smoke. The two songs that I like the most are "Modern Day Hippie," and "Breakfast (In & Out)." If you want to check out his music for yourself, you can go to http://www.datpiff.com/mixtapes-search.php?criteria=curren$y&sort=rating.

Hope You Like It !

"Million Dollar Kiss.."

In 2009, Trey Songz performed with Toni Braxton, since they have a song and video together. The song is called "Yesterday," and the message behind the song is: She caught him cheating on her, and every time, she would go back to him. This time, he's "so yesterday," and she's done with him. She puts the relationship in the past, but now, he wants to try and get it back. It's a typical love song, but the performance at the Soul Train Awards added a little twist. It started out as just the two singing together, and ended with a "little" kiss. Apparently nobody expected the kiss because everybody in the audience seemed shocked.

R&B singer-songwriter Toni Braxton has been questioned in a number of interviews about her little kiss, with Trey Songz. She has shared some information with Wendy Williams, in an interview, on her show. Apparently, it was just an innocent kiss because the lyrics:
"And now you wanna reminisce (now I wanna reminisce)

Say you wanna try again

(said I wanna try again)

It started with a little kiss (a kiss, a kiss)

(we cant even repent) no no."

Wendy Williams asked about Braxton and her husband separating, and if the kiss was behind their separation. She states that she does not like being separated. The two of them are still friends, work together, and raise their children together, but they're definitely separated. When answering questions about the kiss between her and Trey Songz, she says that her husband already knew that the kiss was going to happen, so Trey did not have any part in their separation.
In my mind, the kiss on the Soul Train Awards had something to do with their separation. The separation started getting around right after the kiss happened, who wouldn't think that's one of the causes?

No Other Than...

                                    Trey Songz!

Still wondering how this R&B singer went from singing "Gotta Make It," to songs such as "I Invented Sex" and "Neighbors Know My Name." It was an expected transformation because Trey is now 25 years old, but who would've thought he'd be telling the world that he invented sex?? In an interview on the Mo'Nique Show, the million dollar question that was asked was, "If you invented it, then how did you get here?"
(to hear Trey's response, click the hyperlink on "interview" and watch.)

In 2004, he was signed to Atlantic Records and his first album "I Gotta Make It," was released in June of 2005. Aretha Franklin did the introduction piece to his first album. Under the Trey Songz section of the Atlantic Records website, they say that he is one of "the most promising R&B artists we have had since we started the company 60 years ago." He is very dedicated to his music, and that's something that other music artists should be as well. In addition to answering Mo'Nique's question about him "inventing sex," he answers a more personal question. She questioned his love life, and how his music career affects it. He states that his music is what helps him take care of his family. Nothing can ever make it stop writing songs, performing, or stop him from being dedicated. He is single now, and says that whenever he decides to settle down, his girlfriend would have to accept the fact that music comes first. He says, "she comes first, second from my family and my music." This shows that Trey is not going to put anything above his family, and what helps him support them.
I think that Trey Songz is a great music artist, who has a voice of his own, and he is on the road to success. But then again, he is my favorite singer, so people might think differently.

My First Video.
